If you’ve been sending online newsletters to your clients and prospective clients, now is the time to ask yourself, “Am I doing this right?” While online newsletters are a great way to connect with people and tell them about your business, it’s important to keep in mind that not all online newsletters are the same. That’s why I’m here today to talk to you about the three most effective ways to send online newsletters your clients would love:

1. Don’t send canned emails. The first thing you shouldn’t do is send canned emails. Canned emails are pre-written and generic email templates that most companies send out. Instead of sending canned emails, you should send them newsletters with helpful and informative content, but don’t disclose everything, so that they will contact you when the need arises.

2. Don’t talk about yourself. The last thing people want to know is how good you are in the business. It may matter to people in your field, but that will turn off your clients. You should educate them instead and help them understand the current market that we’re in. By making the effort to educate your clients and prospects, you will get more in return.

“Don’t talk about your success; instead, offer helpful tips.”

3. Give helpful tips. Give your clients helpful tips and strategies that are relevant to their needs. For example, if you’ve recently learned something new about home insurance in the area, they will appreciate learning this from you. But don’t just send out anything you think would be helpful—you have to make your content unique and different based on what you do best.

By giving your clients better newsletters, you will significantly increase your chances of getting more leads in our industry. If you have any questions, call me at 610-283-5900 or email me at gregbasile@kw.com. We’ll set a quick appointment for you at no cost and with no obligation. I would love to help you improve your business.
